1980 William Goldsmith, FIDSA (1917-1987)
At its annual conference in San Antonio, Texas, IDSA honored Mr. Goldsmith with its Personal Recognition Award "for major contributions to the design profession in the US." Goldsmith became a partner with Dave Chapman, Inc. in 1951, Executive VP in 1955, and President in 1966. He became founder and Board Chair of Goldsmith Yamasaki Specht when the firm reorganized in 1970. He was president of ASID in 1957, and president of IDSA 1971-1972.
