Breathing life into Kansas City's Crown Center, the Crayola Cafe and Store projects the fun and creativity of childhood. From the exterior's alternating color blocks to the Cafe's tabletop items, stylized icons carry the visitor through the facility's interactive exhibits and other offerings with the fun and personal expression integral to Crayola. Not surprisingly, dollar volume has exceeded expectations and boosted the center's overall success.

"Playful, sophisticated, integrated design decisions reinforce brand identity. Crayola Café and Store represents a painless integration of industrial design, architectural design, interior design and graphic design. The seamless integration of design disciplines produced a playful, colorful environment that reinforces the identity. The organization of spaces and clear movement patterns are reinforced by the playful use of color, materials and forms. Where the brand may be targeted to kids, this environment is equally inviting to all age groups." -Leslie Showcase Dilworth, IDSA, Society for Environmental Graphic Design
